How to Import Opening Balances

1- Navigate to the toolbar menu and click on the gear icon (Settings).


2- Find “Opening Balances” and click on it.


3- Click on “Import Opening Balance” to begin the import process.


4- Upload the Import File:

File Format: Ensure your file is in the correct format (CSV, XLS, or XLSX) and does not exceed 5MB.

Download a Sample File: If unsure of the file structure, download a sample XLS file and compare it to your import file to ensure it is properly formatted.

Click on "Choose File" to select the file you wish to import.

Duplicate Handling:

  • Skip: Retains the records already in PAYDAY and does not sync the identical records from the import file.

  • Overwrite: Overwrites existing records in PAYDAY with the identical records from the import file.


5- Click on “Next” to proceed.

Map Fields:

PAYDAY will attempt to auto-select the best match for each field from your import file. Review the mappings:

  • Account: Match to the account field.

  • Account Name in English: Ensure the English account name matches.

  • Account Name in Arabic: Ensure the Arabic account name matches.

  • Debit or Credit: Match to the appropriate debit or credit field.

  • Currency: Match to the currency field.

  • Amount: Match to the amount field.

  • Contact Name: Match to the contact name if applicable.


6- Click on “Next” after confirming all fields are correctly mapped.

Preview and Import:


7- Click on “Import” to finalize the process.
